Hear from Our Customers
You’re not scrambling in the kitchen while your guests wait. You’re not stressed about timing or running out of food. You’re actually part of your own event.
That’s what happens when you work with a catering company that knows what we’re doing. Your guests get fresh, quality food that tastes like someone actually cares about what they’re eating. You get to focus on what matters—connecting with the people who showed up.
Whether it’s a corporate lunch for 20 or a wedding celebration for 200, the logistics disappear. The food shows up on time, tastes great, and there’s enough for everyone. Clean-up happens without you lifting a finger.
Brendels Bagels has been serving Long Island for over 30 years, and we’ve learned a few things about what works. We’re not just a bagel shop that decided to try catering—we’re a full-service catering operation with multiple locations and the infrastructure to handle events of any size.
The difference starts with our approach to food. While other caterers rely on pre-made everything, we use traditional kettle-cooking methods for our bagels and source ingredients locally when possible. You can taste the difference, and so can your guests.
Our team understands Mattituck and the North Fork. We know the venues, we know the logistics, and we know what works for events in this area. When you’re dealing with waterfront venues or outdoor celebrations, experience matters.
First, you tell us what you need. Date, location, number of people, and any specific requirements. We’ll walk you through menu options that make sense for your event and budget.
Next, we handle the details. Menu planning, quantity calculations, timing coordination—all the stuff that usually keeps you up at night before an event. We’ve done this thousands of times, so we know exactly what questions to ask and what problems to anticipate.
On event day, we show up early, set everything up, and make sure the food is ready when you need it. If you want service staff, we bring experienced people who know how to keep things moving smoothly. When it’s over, we clean up completely, leaving you with just the leftovers and good memories.

We go beyond dropping off trays. We bring tables, chairs, linens, serving equipment, and experienced staff who know how to run an event. For BBQ catering, we bring the grill, all utensils, and handle the cooking on-site.
Our menu spans breakfast catering with fresh bagels and coffee service, Italian catering with authentic dishes, and premium BBQ where we handle everything from setup to cleanup. We also create custom dessert trays and can accommodate dietary restrictions without making it complicated.
For Mattituck events, we understand local logistics. Whether you’re hosting at a North Fork winery, a waterfront venue, or your backyard, we know how to work with the space and make it successful. We’ve catered events at venues throughout Suffolk County and understand what works in this market.
For most events, two to three weeks notice works fine. But if you’re planning something during peak season—wedding season, holidays, or summer weekends on the North Fork—book earlier.
Popular dates fill up fast, especially for weekend events. Corporate catering during the week is usually more flexible, but if you need specific menu items or extensive setup, more lead time helps us do it right.
The earlier you book, the more options you have for menu customization and staffing. Last-minute bookings are possible depending on our schedule, but you’ll have more choices if you plan ahead.
Full-service means we handle everything. Food preparation, delivery, setup, serving equipment, and cleanup. We bring tables, chairs, linens, plates, utensils—whatever you need to make the event work.
For BBQ catering, we bring the grill and handle all the cooking on-site. For other events, we arrive with hot food ready to serve or set up buffet stations that look professional. Staff service is available if you want servers, bartenders, or someone to manage the food throughout your event.
Cleanup is complete—we pack up leftover food for you, clean all surfaces, and remove everything we brought. You’re left with a clean space and containers of food to enjoy later.
Yes, but we need to know about it when you book. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher—we can work with most dietary needs if we have advance notice.
For corporate events, this is especially important since you might not know everyone’s restrictions ahead of time. We can create separate dishes or modify existing menu items to accommodate different needs without compromising the overall meal.
Special requests like themed menus, specific cultural cuisines, or custom presentations are possible with enough lead time. We’ve been doing this for three decades, so most requests aren’t new to us.
We’ve catered plenty of outdoor events in the Mattituck area and know how to work with unpredictable weather. For BBQ catering, we bring portable equipment that works in various conditions.
If weather becomes an issue, we work with you on backup plans. This might mean adjusting setup timing, bringing additional covering, or modifying the menu to work better indoors if you need to move the event.
Our experience with North Fork venues helps. We know which locations have good backup options and how to set up food service that works whether you’re dealing with wind, rain, or unexpected heat.
We serve all of Long Island, including the entire North Fork, Suffolk County, and Nassau County. Mattituck is part of our regular service area, so there are no additional travel charges.
We’re familiar with venues throughout the region—from Montauk to Manhattan. Whether you’re planning an event in Southold, Greenport, or anywhere else on Long Island, we know the logistics and can make it work.
Distance affects setup timing but not our ability to deliver quality service. We plan delivery schedules to ensure food arrives at the right temperature and our staff has time to set up properly.
Pricing depends on several factors: number of people, menu selection, service level, and event complexity. We provide detailed quotes upfront so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Basic drop-off catering costs less than full-service events with staff. BBQ catering with on-site cooking is priced differently than pre-prepared menu items. We’ll explain the pricing structure when you discuss your event needs.
Corporate catering packages are available for regular customers. Wedding and special event pricing varies based on menu complexity and service requirements. We work with different budgets and can suggest options that deliver good value for your specific needs.
